This video, by director Sean Pecknold is an animated tale of what seems to be the shamanic journey of an elk in human form. It’s a humanistic struggle filled with the glory of the senses, the pain of loneliness, and ultimately, resolve.

Kids use supernatural abilities to escape pedagogy, live on the verge, and smash things into bits… What’s not to love?

I’ve seen this video, produced by phos pictures before. It’s a film about a man’s last hours with his dog. For whatever reason, I just came across it again. It’s pretty rad how candid and honest this video is.

Chiddy Bang, the South Philly hip-hop duo of five minutes from now, sound amazing. Hands down. They mashup MGMT and Sufjan Stevens samples into warm beats that blur the line between indie rock and an impromptu hip-hop rap battle. According to Xaphon Jones And Chidera (Chiddy), their self described mission is to carry on the hip hop tradition by putting classic songs into new contexts.

Chiddy Bang released an EP in the US and UK yesterday, and full length album is expected in 2011. Rumor has it they are working with Pharrell and Q-tip to produce the album.

“It’s like this it’s this beautiful blend of hip-hop, pop, club, afro-beat, dance… Really it’s been a huge experiment for us, like, what happens when you take hip hop kids and put in MGMT samples and sufjan steven samples and just try and blend the crowds to see who we can bring together,” said Jones.
